xx Deathly Hallows: Two Movies?
« Thread started on: Mar 13th, 2008, 10:26am »

According to the Associated Press, it is expected to be announced today that DH will be split into two movies. Part One is to be released in November 2010, with Part Two hitting theaters in May 2011. Here's a link to the article on CNN: Clicky!

Personally, I'm very excited about this, as it means that we might finally get a Harry Potter movie that doesn't cut out half the book, and that the series might actually get the ending that it deserves. And, plus, anything that keeps Harry Potter going just a little bit longer is fine by me.

Thoughts?

Even Willy Wonka didn't think of that one.

Yes, the main part of this news that I'm excited about is that it now means we have THREE MORE Harry Potter movies to look forward to, which means that delicious Potter-anticipation stage can last just that little bit longer. And, of course, there's the "doing justice to the story" part, which is also very pleasing to hear. I think what remains the question now is where they could possibly split the book. I'll have to have a shuffle through and see if I can think of an appropriate spot.
But overall, I have a positive reaction to this news.

This excites me because we're going to get more detail. There was so much in that book that I don't think one movie would do it justice. We'd just get a muck-up and then I would personally hate it.

When will we know for sure that this is 100% true?

It was confirmed by producers to the media at least a week ago. Check out mugglenet or Leaky Cauldron for those reports..

I'm excited too... Two movies is the only way to really do the book justice, even though the "cash cow" aspect of it does kind of make me a little sad.

But, all the people involved say it's purely an artistic reason, so let's hope they don't manage to screw it up. ^_^

WOOHOOOOO!

This is really great. Important plot points won't be cut out, but I just hope they don't add in too much garbage. And this way, we get 2 Harry Potter movies in 6 months! *sings* Who could ask for anything moooore!

I hope they don't add too much. That would be horrible. But they do tend to have a knack for adding things that just don't fit or don't matter. Deathly Hallows is exciting enough without adding any junk, so I don't think they'll have to add anything, but then again, look at what they added to all the other movies...

First reaction when I found out: YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

They really need to do this last movie some justice! I mean, seriously, HBP already isn't going to be as good as it COULD'VE been, sice the rating dropped from Pg13 to Pg. Owch. If they mess up Deathly Hallows too..... angry
